why do we appreciate memories to this extent? Why do we see them perfect even if they were filled with imperfection?
Maybe it is because they happened, we guarantee that they won't change;
they won't hurt us in a different way unless we decided that, so we're
not afraid of them.
Maybe because when we grow up we see them in a
different way and realize their real value. Man misses everything once
it belongs to the "past" time.
We all have memories related to places, people and
things. How many times you saw something that you used to love when you
were a little kid and smiled? Then you realized how silly you were to
love such a simple thing that had nothing to be attractive or
interesting at all. But, you still love to remember it. Actually you
don't love these things for their nature; you love them because they
remind you of a time that is not present anymore. A time when you were
happy and free from responsibility. A time you discovered that it was
much better than your current life but you've discovered this fact too
late.
You miss people who take a great part of your heart when
they left, or changed. You miss your old school, your teachers, your
classmates, all the fun you had together, and even all the fights. You
miss your old home, your grandparents, someone in your family who passed
away. You miss your toys by which you played in your childhood, the
games you used to play, and the songs you used to listen.
People love to keep their memories safe, remember them from time to time
without getting them involved in their present by keeping them away and
trying not to repeat them. They don't want them to be mutated, as
memories are created only to be kept in the past. What's the use of
trying to do the same things you did many years ago? You'll enjoy it for
a while and then they'll lose their meaning. They won't be considered
memories anymore. In addition, you won't have memories to remember them
in the future about your current life as you've mixed your life details
together.
You can't live in the past. You have to move on and
enjoy being able to create new memories. Life is like a story; you can't
stay in one chapter just because you loved it. You have to finish
writing your own story and you can get some help from previous chapters,
maybe lessons you've learned or wisdom you've got or a piece of advice
that someone once told you. You can use it to draw a smile on your face
in the hard times. When you feel that you've lost yourself, then get
back to your box of memories and search for it. But you can’t stay there
forever or you'll be captured for the rest of your life.
Do
you know what the best part is? You always have the chance to end a
chapter in your life and start a new one. Every day is a new beginning;
don't waste it regretting that the previous day has ended.
